Thetrainline.com is the UK market leader in online sales of train tickets for British train services.

The UK’s leading rail ticket retailer and rail ticket information provider has signed a 10 year lease. TheTrainline.com is taking 25,300 sq ft, for its new London Headquarters across the first and second floors of the building

When their lease was due to expire and they realised that they would not be granted an extension Savoy Stewart were approached to find an economical solution that was close to their current office in the City of London.

Trainline instructed us to find a 25,000 sq ft to allow for expansion from their previous office which was 15,000 sq ft.

Budget was a key factor with the space needing to offer the best value for money whilst still being located centrally.

Various options were considered and rejected due to the rent being sought by the landlords or the location and configuration of the space. A shortlist was put together and following detailed negotiations, the property that was eventually selected was 50 Farringdon Road London EC1.

At a rate of £33 per sq ft, with an upwards only rent review/tenants break option, the client was very pleased with the end result which represented a significant 25% discount on the rents that were being asked for prime City of London space.

Positioned in an improving location, 50 Farringdon Road offers space appealing to a wide variety of occupiers and benefits from its close proximity to a number of excellent transport links including the future Crossrail Station at Farringdon, which is scheduled for completion in 2018.
