5 Office Christmas Party Ideas

1. Pub grub and pints

There’s a lot to be said for a relaxed meal and a few drinks with colleagues – frantic games of ping-pong or loud karaoke sessions aren’t for everyone! Cheap ‘n’ cheerful pub chain Wetherspoons is offering a festive menu up until 22nd December, including quirky takes on Christmas classics, such as Turkey Pie. The chain has expanded its range of prosecco, and is also offering festive craft ales including Butcombe Chris Moose and Mordue Tinsel Toon. You could even purchase Wetherspoons gift cards for your staff, which are a lovely Christmas bonus, as well as a way of ensuring everyone gets a fair share of the bar tab during the office Xmas do!

2. Karaoke kings and queens

If your colleagues religiously watch the X Factor and The Voice, then maybe it’s time to put their singing skills to the test with a spot of karaoke. Lucky Voice has venues in London, Brighton, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds and Cardiff. Book a private room or pod, get the drinks in, grab the mic – and sing! Prices start at around £11 per person, depending on party size, venue and time, and there’s a special Christmas drinks package available for £155 which includes one bottle of Stolichnaya vodka or one bottle of Bombay Saphire gin or one bottle of Brugal rum, two litres of mixers, and a bottle of Jeio Bisol Prosecco. Make like Madonna and show us all how it’s done!

3. Laugh your socks off

The office that laughs together, stays together, as the saying doesn’t actually go, but probably should! There are comedy clubs all over the country, from the world-famous Comedy Store in London (and now Manchester) to The Glee Club in Birmingham, which puts on a special Christmas show featuring four comedians from 1st December. Tickets cost from £19 per person, or £36 including two courses. Or you can get the comedy to come to you! This Is Your Laugh is a collective of British comedians who tailor-make live comedy shows for corporate events, stag dos and, of course, office parties. If you’re up for being the butt of the joke, give them a call!

4. The right sort of balls-up

If you want to bowl your employees over with your generosity, treat them to a Christmas party at Hollywood Bowl. With venues all over the country, their Christmas package includes a sit-down meal, champagne, prosecco, and a celebration bowling pin, plus two games of bowling. Prices start at an affordable £17.99 per head, so it’s a great choice for tighter budgets. Get your game on and show your employees that you’re a boss with balls! Bowling balls, of course…

5. Share the fun

If you work in a small office with just a handful of colleagues, but hanker after a really busy, buzzy Christmas bash, then a shared party might be the option for you. Waddesdon Manor, a beautiful 19th Century stately home in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, offers a shared party night in its stunningly renovated Dairy for tables of 8 to 12 guests, including a smart Christmas dinner, from £45 per person. If you’re based in London, or fancy a trip to the Big Smoke, Ultimate Experience throws shared parties for tables of 10 or more at some of the capital’s hottest venues, with a wine and cocktail reception, entertainment and plenty of opportunities to mingle!
